- Pyroelectric , the property of a crystal to develop an electric charge when heated of cooled. - Only Piezoelectric crystals can be Pyroelectric, and such property is used to determine if a crystal lacks a center of symmetry.

It is easy to say that the heating of a crystal produce the stretching and the cooling of it produces the compression both able to charge a Crystal.

Every time we leave a Crystal in direct sunlight, not only will "absorb" the life giving energy of the Sun, but will also recharge to release such energy as we see fit and beneficial to us. After the Crystal has been in the Sun, we can use to massage parts of our body that we feel need treatment, or we can hold to receive its energy as our contact makes it cooler - therefore giving off its energy charge. If your latitude does not enjoy hot Sun, after some time in natural Sunlight, keep the Crystal in the Fridge or Freezer. It is now ready (by going to a cold-compressed state, to warmer uncompressed state) during this stressing time, to give electrical charge when hold close to you or massaging parts that need treatment. A different treatment can be had utilizing the same above properties. Leave your Crystal in the Freezer, when you want to energize, put the Frozen Crystal (is in a compression state) in a glass of water for up to 20 minutes and drink the water, larger Crystals larger container, longer time. While in the water the Crystal will go from a compressed state (frozen) to a less compressed state (normal temperature) that is the stress of the Crystal and release the Electrical charge in the water. It will "recharge" you . Never mind what people will say, use your common sense and while any ingested medicines may have a side effect, this will not. I have been using and recommending this method, besides its easy implement, after I read in a Mineral Book - that in 1985 at the University of Santa Cruz, California, USA, a research was made to measure the Body natural electric charge of two group of person: those who had water "treated" with Quartz Crystal and those who did not . Well , their instruments could detect electric or static charge in the person of the first group at much more distance than those in the second group.

There is always controversy about property and use of Crystals. Sure they cannot do everything, but suffice to use our best notion and common sense to see how and where they can be useful.
